When we started Lovely Memories in Porto, the vision was always bigger than one city. We wanted to bring something different to the world of short-term rentals in Portugal — a level of care, attention, and genuine hospitality that transforms a holiday stay into something guests actually remember. Over five years, hundreds of guests and nearly 50 properties later, that vision is very much alive in Porto's UNESCO-listed streets.
Today, we're proud to announce that Lovely Memories is expanding to the Algarve.
Why the Algarve, and Why Now
Portugal's southern coast has long been one of Europe's most coveted destinations. The light is different here — softer, more golden, stretching long into summer evenings. The pace slows down. The Atlantic opens up. And the standard of luxury travel that visitors expect has grown considerably.
We have watched the Algarve market closely for some time. What we kept noticing was a gap between the quality of properties available and the quality of management behind them. Beautiful homes, too often left to underperform. Guests arriving to a high standard of décor but a low standard of service. Owners with outstanding assets but no reliable partner to help them reach their full potential.
That is exactly the gap we have spent five years learning how to close.
The Algarve deserves the same standard of luxury property management that we have built our reputation on in Porto. So we are bringing it.
Our First Algarve Properties
We are launching with three properties — each chosen carefully, each in a location that speaks for itself.
Salgados, Albufeira — Nature's Edge
Two of our first Algarve homes sit within the Salgados area, in the protected landscape of Herdade dos Salgados and Vila das Lagoas. This is the Algarve at its most serene. The Salgados lagoon and nature reserve form a rare natural backdrop — a haven for birdlife, walking paths, and the kind of quiet that feels genuinely restorative.
Guests staying here are close to Albufeira's coastline and amenities while enjoying a sense of escape that most resort areas simply cannot offer. These are homes for travellers who want beauty without noise, and comfort without compromise.
Armação de Pêra — Coastal Village Charm
Our third property sits in Armação de Pêra, one of those Algarve villages that manages to feel both authentic and quietly exceptional. Sheltered beaches. Traditional fishing heritage. A seafront promenade that rewards an evening stroll. It draws visitors who appreciate the texture of a real Portuguese coastal community alongside everything the region's warm summers offer.
